Am I a Good Candidate for Solar? Not all home or business sites are good for Solar PV.

Many factors are considered when we calculate your financial pro-forma explaining your potential investment in solar. Some of the biggest factors include:

  • Do you have a south facing roof?
    • If so, is the roof and structure in good condition?
    • If not, what directions does the roof face.
    • If not, what ground space is available on your property?
  • Whatever space is being considered for solar, does it have sunlight access or are their trees or other structures blocking the sky?
    • Will the potential array site have 95%+ “solar access” between 9:00am and 3:00pm
  • Who is your Electric Utility? We Energies, WPS, WPPI, Coop?
    • What is your current kWh rate? And what surcharges are added onto your bills?
    • How much electricity (kWh) do you use on a monthly and annual basis?
  • Is your home Energy Star Rated?
    • Have you done any other Energy Efficiency or Renewable Energy projects? Did Focus on Energy incentivize them?
  • What are your Return on Investment and/or Payback expectations.
